Job Description

Set-up, operate, and run CNC machines. (focus on mills)

Studies specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations and setup requirements.

Maintains holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines.

Evaluates regular machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow and depth and angle of cut for anomalies.

Communicate and document anomalies to Group Leader/Shift Leader.

Verify conformance of finished product to specifications.

Participate in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities within the area.

Must be attentive and aware of machine anomalies as they occur.

Provide feedback (CIP) to all related areas Machining, Assembly, Test and/or QMM.

Perform other essential and related duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

High school Diploma or equivelant
Minimum four (4) or more years of experience in area of machining or combination of experience and education.
Skilled in CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, Engine Lathes, Vertical Mills, Drilling Machines, CNC Grinders and/or the assembly of machine components.
Ability to read blueprints and gages.
Ability to effectively communicate with direct reports and act as liaison for shift regarding production related issues.
Comfortable operating computers and general computer applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for email communications.

strong Lathe experience a plus.
