NOTE: The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has issued new requirements for health care and congregant care facilities to decrease the risk of COVID-19 outbreaks. Based on the CDPH public health mandate, all candidates for positions at Edgewood Center must provide proof of vaccination. Clinical Supervisor (AIS)- This is a full-time ,exempt position (40 hours), Mon.-Fri., onsite, generally 9-5, with periodic 24 hour on call coverage by phone.

The new hire for this position will receive a $5,000 bonus after a year of service!! This is a pro-rated amount to hours worked.
Position Summary
This position provides clinical oversight, trainee supervision, consultation, care coordination, and utilization management to Acute Intensive Services Program.
Essential Functions
  • Provides administrative oversight to residential Acute Services Programs and Crisis Stabilization Unit.
  • Directly supervises clinicians (clinical staff, per diem clinicians, and SFSU clinical trainees) to ensure the proper delivery of clinical services including the provision of weekly individual supervision and weekly clinical consultation group
  • Be available by phone throughout the day for clinical consultation calls from supervisees and staff.
  • Oversees delivery and quality of individual, family, and group therapy clinical services within the milieu, including case assignments.
  • Participates in the Acute Services Intake process including attendance of weekly intake review meetings, coordination with the intake department and other programs for referral review, and other support as needed.
  • Leads the utilization management process to ensure that clients within the Acute Services Programs and Crisis Stabilization Unit meet medical necessity for their current level of care.
  • Collaborates and maintains relationships with outside partners and agencies around clinical issues (e.g., authorizations, discharge recommendations, care coordination, obtaining trainings, etc.).
  • Ensures effective communication between all members of a child's care team, including attending CFT and other meetings as needed.
  • Works closely with Quality Assurance (QA) to ensure excellent documentation standards
  • Oversees and approves mental health clinical documentation from clinicians within established timelines and meeting all guidelines.
  • Ensures Community Care Licensing (CCL) standards are being met by overseeing employee guidelines as well as clinical documentation
  • Interviews and hires Acute Services and Crisis Stabilization clinical staff and addresses staffing issues as they arise.
  • Manage supervisee PTO and clinical coverage
  • Works in collaboration with the Clinical Director of Acute Intensive Services, other Edgewood programs, and staff around program development and program implementation through.
  • Attend weekly Staff meetings to collaborate with Milieu Managers in order to ensure consistent care of clients in the milieu.
  • Leads insurance appeal process when indicated, in collaboration with the Behavioral Health Director and/or Medical Director
  • Provides safe, effective, efficient, culturally competent and client centered implementation of direct care in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards of care.
  • Participates in campus on-call rotation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Applied Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • This person must possess a license in the field of mental health (a master's or doctoral degree plus an MFT, LCSW, Ph.D.)
  • Minimum 2 years post-licensure.
  • Must have completed BBS Supervisory Training Course
  • Two years of clinical work experience in a therapeutic setting with children, youth and families that have been or are involved in issues relating to abuse (verbal, physical, sexual, and neglect).
  • At least one year of clinical supervisory of staff and trainees in a similar organization preferred.
  • Must have awareness of trauma and substance abuse issues and how they impact a family system.
  • Must have strong knowledge of individual, family and group therapy practices. Knowledge and experience in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Intensive Family Therapy, or evidence-based trauma therapies preferred.
  • Experience with Utilization Management preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of DSM-V diagnosing, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and case management.
  • Strong assessment and evaluation skills.
  • Ability to work with clients and staff from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds.
  • Experience in or knowledge of psychological assessment preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written and consultation skills.
Salary Information:
This position has as salary range of $91,291 to $ 108, 725 depending on years of clinical supervision and bilingual language skills.
