The Section of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Nutrition is seeking an outstanding physician leader to join our team in the Nutrition & Obesity Medicine Program in the Department of Medicine at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and Boston Medical Center. We are seeking a physician with a strong interest in the care of patients with obesity, diabetes or other endocrine conditions in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.
We currently have a multidisciplinary nutrition and weight management team with physicians, NPs, RDs and a LICSW managing a busy ambulatory clinic as well as a strong collaboration with the Bariatric Surgery team. In addition to the ambulatory program, the team provides Nutrition Support Services to inpatients and consults on post-op bariatric surgery patients. The Section of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Nutrition has a strong research program in diabetes and obesity and has several ongoing clinical trials involving our diverse and underserved patient population. We have also been national leaders in training obesity medicine specialists via our Obesity and Nutrition fellowship program since 2009.
The section is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body is actively recruiting candidates with a strong commitment to teaching, patient care, clinical investigation, and program development/quality improvement.
Required Skills
The successful candidate must have a MD, MD/PhD. Candidates with an MD must be board eligible/certified in obesity medicine and/or endocrinology and metabolism. Candidates must have, or be eligible for, a full Massachusetts medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of Massachusetts.
Key qualifications:
- Clinical background in Obesity Medicine
- Obesity Medicine fellowship or at least 3 years of prior clinical experience in Obesity Medicine
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
Salary/Stipend:
According to BUMG (Boston University Medical Group) standards/regulations
