Concentric Methods is seeking a Clinical Interviewer to join our team in Baltimore, MD in support of the NIH.
Responsibilities:
- Administer mental health assessments and diagnostic interviews for participants who are screening on the phone or in-person, for study participation.
- Obtain participant medical and drug use information according to protocol Inclusion/Exclusion criteria.
- Present study physicians with participant eligibility information in regular meetings to aide in study clearances for participation.
- Provide behavioral counseling within a drug treatment related context as needed.
- Participate in subject recruitment activities, including outreach events and focus groups
- Educate participants and potential participants on research protocols and be able to answer questions about procedures, remuneration, and study timelines.
- Obtain informed consent from participants to the screening protocol.
- Administer protocol questionnaires or other tasks specific to protocols to participants.
- Provide appropriate follow-up correspondence to candidates on recruiting status via phone, text messaging, social media, and/or email.
- Electronically track recruiting activities and provide candidate status to study teams.
- Efficiently schedule phone screen scripts, in-person screening appointments and provide high-touch communications with candidates to give them the best insight into the screening process.
- Arrange candidate travel and distributes remuneration, as needed.
- Manages the candidate onsite experience by providing exceptional hospitality, including greeting candidates, ensuring the screening process is conducted in a timely and efficient manner.
- Establishes rapport with candidates during the screening process.
- Perform data entry and other duties associated with screening
- Maintain storage records/inventory of mental health assessments, screening data and biological specimens. Process, store and destroy biological samples as needed.
- Acquaint participants with the MRI or mock MRI scanner to assess their comfort level, fit and eligibility to participate in MRI studies.
- Create, enter and maintain research/screening data in the medical record system, generate associated reports and spreadsheets upon request.
- Maintain inventory and orders supplies as needed
Job Requirements:
- Master’s degree in psychology, social work, biological sciences or related discipline.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a research related field.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in behavioral counseling, preferably in drug/smoking/alcohol treatment.
- Previous experience in human subjects’ interaction (clinical or research).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification will be required – training will be provided.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, customer service oriented and client focused approach to work due to extensive participant contact.
- Strong communications skills, both oral and written.
- Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills required.
- Proficient computer skills required (e.g. Microsoft Office)
- Will complete all NIH/NIDA Mandatory trainings or/and other required trainings by the deadline set forth.
