Overview
Vitalief is a fast growing, “best of breed” Research and Clinical Trial Solutions Consulting Company. We are seeking a Senior level Clinical Research Transformation Consultant for a 4 to 6 month engagement with one of Vitalief’s premier clients. This consultant will work in collaboration with the Vitalief team to provide a strategic clinical research and operational performance improvement assessment of our client’s clinical research environment (current state) and recommend an innovative approach (future state) to our client’s planning and execution of a successful research enterprise.
Work Location: This is a hybrid position - mostly remote / with an occasional visit to client site in Texas.
Duration: 4 to 6 months (40 hours per week).
Responsibilities:
- Functioning in a lead role, meet with Vitalief’s clinical research client stakeholders to assess their current clinical trials operational environment and understand what their business objectives are.
- Utilizing business process improvement and change acceleration process tools (i.e., driving working sessions that utilize Lean concepts including value stream mapping, and waste analysis) design an optimal solution based on clinical research industry viability, then present the recommendations to the stakeholders, gaining consensus and agreement on the solution.
- This solution should contain elements such as (but not limited to): What the organizational structure should look like; Skill sets needed; Resource model (i.e., remote / hybrid / on-site; types of resources (i.e., FTEs, contractors); Technology needed; Business processes changes; Financial cost/model.
- Develop (and eventually lead the implementation of) an Organizational Change Management (OCM) strategy by establishing and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders in order to support this initiative and assess the capability and capacity of the organization to deliver transformational change (i.e., change readiness assessment workshops).
- Work with client organizational leaders and employees to maximize stakeholder adoption and ensure understanding, and proficiency of the changes that impact employees in the organization.
- Continuously promote benefit realization, value creation, ROI and the achievement of results and outcomes, thus minimizing resistance to change and ensuring benefit realization of the recommended solution.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 15 years of overall experience, including 5 to 10 years of experience working on Lean based business process improvement efforts; great depth in creating efficient business processes through proven processes, tools and techniques.
- 5 years of Organizational Change Management experience, including implementing change strategies within a large corporate environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Organizational Development or related discipline.
- Expertise and successful track record in initiating, leading and delivering large scale business process improvement re-engineering and change programs in order to ensure that optimum benefits are delivered in line with the organizations business objectives.
- Pharmaceutical/Life Science industry experience and/or large consulting firm experience is required; experience in the Clinical Research industry is a plus.
- Lean, and/or Six Sigma Black Belt (or Master Black Belt) certification is preferred.
- Ability to apply and instill Lean principles into daily work from both coaching and project-based work perspectives; in addition to perform value stream mapping, waste analysis and build a standardized approach to work effort.
- Must possess excellent leadership skills, a strong executive presence, and the ability to effectively provide coaching to senior executives on how to identify the benefit realization, value creation, points of resistance, and how to build advocacy for change.
- Strong relationship building skills, and with ability to foster collaboration among diverse teams and stakeholders to gain consensus and drive toward common solutions.
- Expertise in initiating and delivering large scale change programs in order to ensure that optimum benefits are delivered in line with the organizations business objectives; and ability to assess the capability and capacity of the organization to deliver transformational change.
- Ability to train and educate all levels of employees on elements of change readiness, how to help them recognize what resistance is and how to personally manage the resistance, address conflict, and effectively communicate, and coach others to develop effective communication/listening skills to enable advocacy; help employees become advocates or change agents.
