Clinic Dietitian
1.0 FTE, 80 hours per pay period
Typically, Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Hours may occasionally vary.


The Clinic Dietitian is responsible for providing Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT), Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSMES) and Intensive Behavioral Therapy for Obesity (IBT) to patients (pediatrics to adults) with a variety of disease states such as weight management, diabetes (type 1, type 2, gestational diabetes and prediabetes), chronic kidney disease, gastrointestinal diseases, cardiovascular disease, etc.

The Clinic Dietitian is embedded within primary care allowing for collaborative work with primary care providers, nursing and support caregivers.

Opportunities to participate and develop innovative programming such as the Food as Medicine Program (FAM) will be available. Within the FAM program, the Clinic Dietitian will be responsible for providing education and support for participants.

The Clinic Dietitian will also periodically provide nutrition education to the health care team and at community events offered by Winona Health and/or community organizations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides evidenced-based Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSMES) and Intensive Behavioral Therapy (IBT) to outpatients.
  • Documents care provided in the medical record.
  • Follows infection control procedures during contact with patients.
  • Attends team meetings and completes mandatory educational requirements of Winona Health.
  • Understands, supports, and integrates into one’s position the organization’s vision/mission/values.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics
  • Must be a Registered Dietitian (RD) / Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or registry eligible with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
