Job Description

Aerospike Database is a high performance, highly scalable, distributed database optimized for SSD and advanced storage technologies, such as Intel's Optane persistent memory. Our database needs easy to use, high performance clients for developers to create applications in the language of their choice. Clients are offered to developers using Java, C, C#, Python, Node.js, PHP, Ruby, Go, and Rust.

We are looking for a recent graduate with an interest in computer languages to join our client development team. Having an interest in computer languages is preferred. You will have opportunities to work on highly visible open-source projects, and interact with others in the Aerospike developer community.

What You'll Do

• Port features from the Java client into a different language client for Aerospike Database
• Produce high-quality and well-tested code
• Research the ways developers are writing applications in the language you be support (frameworks, tools, etc)
• Analyze and improve the performance of the client
• Create documentation and code examples demonstrating use of the client
• Answer questions from the developer community and our Solutions team
• Handle bug reports and code contributions to the project

Qualifications

• Able to read and write code in Java or C
• Self-starter who demonstrates initiative and ability to work independently with little supervision
• Interested to learn and be mentored by experienced software engineers

Nice to Have

• Experience writing code in PHP, Ruby, Python or Node.js

• Newly graduated from a computer science, computer engineering or similar program
