The Claims Supervisor assists in the oversight of daily coding and billing functions within the Central Business Office (CBO) including accurate coding principles exercising compliance in accordance with CPT, government and carrier policy and guidelines. Communicates with manager regarding problems, education issues, compliance, etc. as needed.

The position works directly with our Billers and Coders to guide work assignment priorities, serve as a subject matter expert in the areas of responsibility, and provide coaching and mentoring to the team members. This position also works along side the Billing Manager to help set goals, assist in evaluating performance as it relates to those goals, and serves as a change agent when

goals/priorities shift.

Top responsibilities include:

  • Oversees the billing functions including generating reports, identifying trends & gaps, and providing solutions to issues that arise.
  • Oversees staff work assignments; shifts work and delegates tasks as necessary. Monitors process workflows; identifies gaps and deploys solutions as necessary.
  • Reviews escalated issues from Billing employees and customer medical office problems with respect to account coding and billing. Provides professional feedback; serves as a consultant to offices in this regard.
  • Assists Billing Manager with personnel management (i.e. recruitment, onboarding, training and development, performance evaluations, coaching/mentoring, separation procedures as necessary.).
  • Tracks the results of internal audits and assists with the implementation of necessary changes.
  • Serves as a coding subject matter expert (SME). Assists manager with oversight of charge entry and makes recommendations for improvement to both CBO staff and customer billing/coding employees.
  • Manages projects, serves on specific committees, serves as an ambassador of North Florida Medical Services.
Requirements:

Education & Experience:

MUST have at least two years in supervisory or team lead role in healthcare-related accounts management.

Experience with surgical medical group accounts management and/or billing and coding preferred.

Education and Certification Requirements:

1-2 experience preferred

High school diploma required. Associates degree preferred.

This is a full-time exempt position.
