GPI is seeking a recent college graduate for an entry-level position in Civil/Site design. This Design Engineer position will provide support to other designers and engineers in the land development environment in Maryland and throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Responsibilities:
- Assist with the development of site grading and development plans
- Aid with the design of stormwater management using Environmental Site Design practices
- Support the design of storm drain and drainage systems, including hydrologic and hydraulic computations
- Assist with erosion and sediment control design
- Participate in site layout and conceptual design
- Prepare construction details under the supervision of a Project Engineer
- Navigate zoning and design codes for State and local municipalities
- Complete tasks within the assigned schedule and budget
- Participate in inter-disciplinary teams
- Perform field investigations during design and construction
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited engineering program
- 0-2 years of experience in Civil Site Design
- Ability to work in AutoCAD Civil 3D to produce deliverables
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
- Possess a personal vehicle for use on or around a job site
- Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
- Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
