Brightspeed is looking for a Circuit Design Engineer to join our team! Operating in a highly cross-functional environment, this role is influential and has an ability to make an immediate and significant impact on the business. In this role, you will focus on supporting a team caring for enterprise revenue customer accounts. You will lead and motivate the customer services team in providing an exceptional experience

As a Circuit Designer Engineer within our Service Delivery team, you will have the following duties:

• Responsible for customer order fulfillment by designing a circuit path across the Brightspeed network through network architecture, routing configurations, and documented design consumption rules
• Within the design responsibilities, accountable for producing an accurate design layout record that demonstrates an understanding of the products and their specifications offered by the Brightspeed, and the scope of work requested on a customer order meets the product criteria. Provide high quality documentation of network failures and maintenance activity.
• Demonstrate ability to efficiently and accurately design and process customer orders for Brightspeed products
• Process orders according to SLAs, On Time Performance and quality standards
• Manage the assigned queue demonstrating strong time management skills and commitment to customer excellence
• Written and verbal Customer communication of order status and inter-departmental collaboration
• Knowledgeable and Proficient in complex provisioning requirements, technologies and delivery
• Working knowledge of equipment elements and solutions across switched and special access, Optical and Ethernet solutions, local loop and long-haul transport in the telephony network
• Provide technical support to internal and external customers for engineering, installation and testing of all transport facilities and special and switched access circuits\
• Drive on-time completion of all customer and network orders
• Assist other departments or work groups, providing expert knowledge and leadership from within
• Properly prioritize tasks, orders and assignments
• Perform Project based duties based on organizational growth demands

What it takes to catch our eye:

• Associate degree or equivalent education and relevant experience
• Minimum 3 - 5 yrs related experience in specific area or equivalent
• May require technical certification
• Must have customer facing experience in a similar role at a prior telecommunications company with proven experience working in an Circuit Design Engineer or similar Service Delivery role
• Executive level presence and able to communicate with client stakeholders
• Extensive knowledge of TDM and IP based voice and data services
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and work collaboratively with sales, customer experience, and network operations colleagues to support service delivery
• Must have strong personal leadership skills and is a professional, responsive, and a good team player
• Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
• Strong customer focus and excellent attention to detail

Behavioral & Technical:

• Lead level circuit design engineering position
• Able to demonstrate teamwork, coaching and strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Self-Motivated and works independently to achieve KPI expectations
• Able to follow established procedures to fulfill customer order requirements accurately and efficiently
• Exhibit continual learning and development by improving job skills through on the job training and all available learning pathways
• Robust technical understanding of voice, data, ethernet products and related equipment, as well as keeping up with new products or product changes and procedures/design consumption rules
• Expert understanding of design, including both on net and offnet routing configurations
• Expert understanding of customer order requirements and fulfilling requirements via customer design systems/tools – new/modify/disconnect orders and task completions
• Ability to work in multiple design systems both legacy and next generation
• Ability to quickly evaluate challenges and make recommendation for remediation
• Attention to detail to ensure entrance and exit criteria met in accordance with the Customer expectation
