As a Counselor Assistant your responsibilities will include:

• Assists clinical staff in the observation, supervision and monitoring of individuals
• Appropriately utilizes verbal and physical intervention techniques (NAPPI) to redirect and prompt individuals to safe and appropriate behavior
• Demonstrates knowledge of and implements the specific programs according to individual's age group and level of functioning
• Teaches and encourages the individual to complete tasks independently; reinforces individual's effort.
• Guides and participates in individual therapeutic milieu

New Horizons will need you to have the following qualifications:

• AA in Human Services or related field or two (2) years’ experience in related field will substitute for degree requirement
• Valid Florida Driver's License with 6 points or less in the last 5 years
