WORK HOURS PER WEEK - 35
EMPLOYMENT STATUS - Full-time Regular Non-Exempt
SALARY - $16.00 per hour
JOB SUMMARY: The CACFP Manager is responsible for the implementation of the Child and Adult
Care Food Program. The Manager will be responsible to conduct activities for NYS Registered Family
Day Care, Licensed Group Family Day Care and informal providers in Jefferson, Lewis and St.
Lawrence Counties. The activities include, but are not limited to, conducting home visits, assisting
with claims, and maintaining database for the CACFP program. The Manager will also assist in the
inspection of LE providers according to contract standards. The Manager will provide support to
child care providers and the CCR&R staff through training and technical assistance, and contribute
to the JLCP vision of ensuring that the community has access to and support for high-quality child
care.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: THE MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED
TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Monitor Providers' compliance with DOH policies and procedure.
- Identify and recruit new participants for the CACFP program.
- Demonstrate Department commitment to equity, diversity, and community
- Receive, review, and process LE enrollment applications
- Communicate with providers and contract partners clearly and promptly about needed
- Schedule, complete, and document home inspections as assigned, in accordance with
- Complete support activities that ensure compliance with JLCP, CAPC, and contractual
- Participate in position-related professional development with guidance from CACFP/LE
- Handles other duties as may be required or assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.
EDUCATION: Associates Degree in Early Childhood, Human Services, or Business
Administration.
EDUCATION ALTERNATIVE: 30 Credits in Early Childhood, Human Services, Business
Administration or Food Service with 4 years' experience or CDA/FDC with 18 additional credits.
CERTIFICATES AND/OR LICENSES: Valid Driver's License required.
WORK EXPERIENCE: One year work experience in field. Supervisory experience desired.
SKILLS OR OTHER ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION: Above average computer
skills, ability to maintain accurate and complete records, demonstrated knowledge of and
adherence to NYS child care regulations and CACFP requirements, strong organizational and
time management skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office environment and extensive driving required in Jefferson, Lewis,
and St. Lawrence Counties to complete home visits.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS: Able to be non-judgmental in working with low-income families,
work as part of a team, able to complete tasks independently, maintain a professional
appearance in manner and attire when dealing with co-workers, clients and the general public.
Must be able to pass satisfactory background clearance.
EQUIPMENT USED: Computer, telephone, copier/printer, shredder, fax.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Sitting, driving, computer use for documentation and research,
lifting and carrying may be required periodically. Requires close mental and visual attention to
perform job duties.
