ROLE OVERVIEW
VGL, the parent company of Shop LC, is a house of homegrown world-class applications and platforms based on technologies including but not limited to .Net, MS ERP, Salesforce, AI-ML, and Marketing Automation.
We are looking for an experienced and result-driven CTO to join our dedicated Global IT team! As CTO of the group, you will be responsible to lead a very talented team of Salesforce, Shopify, AI & ML, .Net, Mobile, DevOps, ERP, Cloud, Security & Infrastructure, etc.
You will lead all technology strategies/initiatives for Digital, Ecommerce, and all business platforms of the group.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Managerial Responsibilities
- Delivery of timely one to one’s (1 to 1’s) and preparing and delivering mid-year and year-end performance evaluations.
- Promote professional and personal development of individual team members by utilizing computerized and other systems for tracking service, and quality, setting productivity goals, training, and coaching interventions and career opportunity programs, and researching information and troubleshooting.
- Provide ongoing management and coaching.
Individual Responsibilities
- Responsible for the company’s core technology roadmap, technology innovation, global infrastructure, application development, digital technology, business transformation, and AI capabilities. Verticals include online retail, TV (OTT & OTA), call center operation, social integration, supply chain, sourcing, and manufacturing.
- Lead the application development and delivery initiatives that include but are not limited to designing, developing, and implementing retail/supply chain/ eCommerce solutions at the enterprise level by showing a comprehensive business knowledge of the retail & eCommerce domain.
- Make infrastructure strategies and closely work with our global Infra and NOC teams that oversee the network, application, and data security, management, and governance ensuring technical excellence, resiliency, and scalability in the architecting of infra solutions.
- Lead the AI initiatives and guide a team of data scientists and AI engineers to turn data into valuable insights and build solutions to provide a personalized experience to consumers by delivering innovative solutions using statistical concepts and techniques such as Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Deep Learning.
- Ensuring all technology practices adhere to regulatory standards.
- Providing technical leadership at the enterprise level and overseeing overall technology development and utilization plan and managing all information technology teams and resources.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- All other duties as assigned by the manager.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor of Technology/Bachelor of Engineering/Master of Engineering degree in a relevant technical discipline with 10+ years of experience as CTO.
- Well-versed in current technological trends and familiar with a variety of business concepts for developing objectives and strategies for the implementation of innovative solutions while optimizing existing systems, applications, and information.
- Experience in E-Retail/E-Commerce or another relevant industry.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Moving around to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
- Remaining in a stationary position, standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

A subsidiary of VGL, Shop LC was established in Austin, TX in 2007 and serves customers through Live TV programming as well as the website ShopLC.com. Shop LC ships approx. 25,000 products to its U.S .customers every day. Shop LC, US employs approx. 550 people in operations such as its warehousing, customer service, merchandising, marketing, EComm, live studio, and management reside at the U.S. headquarters in Austin.
OTHER RETAIL UNITS OF VGL
TJC, London, UK established in 2006 serves customers through Live TV as well as the website TJC.co.uk. TJC ships approx. 12000 products to its UK customers every day. TJC employs approx. 220 people in London in various divisions like LC supported by extended teams in India. TJC also sees huge market potential in the UK, Ireland, and Scotland.
ShopLC Germany was launched in 2021 in Dusseldorf, Germany. The Digital website was launched in April (ShopLC.de) and the TV broadcast was launched in September. We are very excited about this new market and see tremendous growth potential in Germany and entire Europe.
