Overview
Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH is seeking a Chief Nurse Anesthetist to support the clinical mission of the Department of Anesthesiology and retain a clinical role as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). The chief CRNA functions as the primary CRNA representative to the Department of Anesthesiology and the Perioperative Service Line. This is a remarkable opportunity for someone with demonstrated leadership experience to lead CRNAs in clinical, research, educational, consultative, and legislative arenas in accordance with the mission and vision of the Department and organization.
The preferred candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a strategic leader with the ability to manage a substantial, complex, and evolving organization. Ideally, the successful candidate will have had leadership experience within a dynamic academic health system associated with a residency or SRNA program. The successful candidate will be an advocate for the CRNA group and Anesthesia Department and be committed to mentoring and training the next generation of Nurse Anesthetists.

  • Non-OR anesthesia practice – including cases in IR, Endoscopy, CT, MRI, ECT, EP, cath lab and our Center for Surgical Innovation.

About the Role:
  • Provide responsible leadership for all Department staff processes including CRNA engagement, recruitment, development, and performance assessment.
  • Foster a respectful learning environment in support of the advancement of learners and that supports the professional development of staff.
  • Champion programs to enhance diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging among all faculty and staff within the department.
  • Foster a culture and environment that enables change implementation and innovation in transitioning from volume-based to value-based care models in conjunction with senior clinical, academic, and administrative leadership.
  • Advance medical management and cost-effectiveness initiatives, implement best practices, including case and utilization management processes, and foster quality promotion, patient safety, and cost containment.
  • Lead innovation and implementation of curricular programs within the Department and through collaborations with others that are aligned with the goals of the system.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications: - At least 5 years of clinical experience - At least 3 years of demonstrated leadership experience - Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and concisely both verbally and in writing with individuals and groups at various levels and various disciplines - Eligible to obtain and/or maintain licensure in the state of New Hampshire - Must maintain additional certifications in accordance with applicable departmental requirements
