Company Description

CRISP Shared Services (CSS) serves as the designated Health Information Exchange (HIE) for Maryland and Washington, D.C., with affiliates in West Virginia, Connecticut, and Alaska. CSS facilitates the electronic transfer of clinical information between disparate information systems in order to positively impact the healthcare system through improved patient care and outcomes, reduced costs, and data-driven understanding of regional public health concerns.

Job Summary

The CMO is responsible for developing clinical direction for CSS (the Organization) and affiliates, in consultation with the executive team at CRISP Shared Services. They serve as an ambassador for the organization, routinely meeting with clinicians in the field and advocates across the healthcare industry, focusing on improving health IT usability and reducing clinician burden. They lead efforts to better understand and address clinical documentation burdens and other administrative burdens relating to the use of HIE and serve as the clinical subject matter expert for the organization. They will also partner on the organization’s public health service offerings and support modernization efforts across supported jurisdictions.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with members of the executive team and legal and compliance in the planning of strategic initiatives
  • Staff all clinical advisory committees
  • Serve as the clinical advocate for CSS to talk to providers in other states about the benefits of HIE
  • Continue to develop and grow CSS’s provider network and collaborate closely with Medical Groups, IPAs, ACOs, and MSOs to ensure they are receiving the solutions
  • Validate technology deployments for clinical workflow
  • Serve as the clinical expert in public health

  • Proven effectiveness with executive-level responsibilities
  • Skilled and knowledgeable in relationship management and communication with key executives/stakeholders
  • Knowledge of public relations principles and practices
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems and issues
  • Ability to communicate and interact with officials at all levels of government and to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community, including C-level executives
  • Strong advocate for data interoperability’s role in supporting public health, specifically population health policy and programs

Education and/or Experience

  • Medical or other graduate level clinical degree
  • Master of Health Administration (MHA) or Master of Public Health (MPH) advantageous
  • Board certified
  • 10+ years of clinical experience
  • 4+ years of experience in a leadership role
