Technical Representative F18 Avionics

The primary purpose of the Contractor Engineering and Technical Services (CETS) is to provide on-site formal and on-the-job training, maintenance technical advice, and general F18 Avionics aircraft systems sustainment.

CETS representatives serve as the maintenance technical expert advisor to senior leaders and maintenance technicians in the maintenance, operation, and training related to complex and sophisticated systems and equipment. CETS representatives provides functional managers with solutions to complex system problems. They advise technicians throughout the Fleet enterprise, as requested, on methods of troubleshooting and resolving problems, repairing difficult system malfunctions, research and analysis, and resolving equipment problems with long term F18 Avionics fleet sustainment implications.

Job Description

The CETS develops special maintenance procedures and training for users and maintainers, and conducts technical training as requested. Ensures senior leaders and maintenance technicians in the field are kept informed on technical issues, results of meetings, and conference findings. Recommends changes to maintenance processes to improve mission readiness and system capabilities. Make recommendations for process Improvements and technical support.

Provide on-the-job training to all maintenance personnel covering all phases of maintenance and operation, operational checkouts, systems analysis, and system/subsystem replacement, adjustment, and services pertinent to F18 Avionics and ancillary equipment. Assist in preparation of lesson plans and course outlines as required. Keep abreast of latest state-of-the-art systems/equipment and associated practices and procedures and make modifications to the training programs accordingly. Training focuses on improving unit self-sufficiency.

Provides extensive technical assistance in both formal classroom and on-the-job training in all phases of operation and squadron level maintenance of the primary and associated test equipment. Training outlines, documenting systems to be discussed with technical references and clear objectives will be provided to Office of Primary Responsibility, Quality Assurance Office, or Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for review. All training will include safety precautions, adherence to technical orders, and forms documentation. Utilizes required security and safety practices and procedures, required to wear protective safety equipment and clothing when appropriate.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a minimum of 7 years relevant aircraft mechanic / F18 avionics experience.

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Must have a valid Driver’s License.

Must be able to speak, read and write and understand English.

Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and / or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned task.

Must past pre-employment background check.

Must past pre-employment and post-employment drug testing.

Must be able to attain and maintain a Defense Biometric Identification System Card (DBIDS).

Must be able to attain and maintain an Active Secret Clearance.

Must Obtain a Common Access Card to start.

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

Active Secret Clearance.

Minimum of 10 years of current, F18 Avionics experience.

Prior experience in Naval Aviation Depot level maintenance.
