The City of Thorndale, Texas is looking to hire a full-time CERTIFIED Texas Peace Officer with at least one year experience. Four days on with three days off, with plenty off-duty jobs to supplement your in-come if interested. Our work environment includes: * Growth opportunities * Relaxed atmosphere The Police Department is hiring for full-time, entry level Certified Police Officers. The position is responsible for providing law enforcement services in the community, responding to calls for service and enforcing both state and local laws and ordinances. We're looking for dedicated, motivated individuals with a desire to improve their community as well as their own professional growth opportunities. Responsibilities: * Respond to and investigate crimes. * Arrest suspects and file reports. * Be able to handle aggressive suspects during an arrest. * Arrest people for certain crimes on witnesses' descriptions of their appearance. * Deal with dangerous situations, such as armed robbers and violent hostage-takers. * Be a good marksman with a pistol, rifle, or shotgun.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $41,600.00 - $48,000.00 per year
