Job description
Allergy and Immunology Associates of Michigan is currently seeking a Fulltime Medical Assistant to float between our Ann Arbor, Novi, Bingham Farms and satellite locations. Likely to work in 3-4 different locations each week. Please note that initial training will occur in Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti (first 2-3 weeks) We are looking for an eager professional ready to jump in to our growing practice, and become part of the team.
Medical Assistant Duties and Responsibilities:
* Rooming patients
* Taking and recording vitals (Weight, height, blood pressure, respirations, pulse, spo2, temp)
*Confirming drug allergies and entering demographics/preferred pharmacy in to our prescription software for streamlining medications for patients.
* Perform Skin Prick Testing (SPT), placing NAC 80 patch tests
*Helping facilitate in office food and drug challenges, and venom testing.
* Administer injections including some vaccines, immunotherapy injections, biologic injections for Chronic Hives, Asthma, and more.
*Helping treat anaphylaxis in shot patients or patients with challenges. Including retrieving the anaphylaxis bin, getting vitals, drawing up epinephrine from ampule, documenting and assuring provider notified to evaluate.
* Perform spirometry testing on patients with Asthma, and COPD, Reactive Airway Disease.
Medical Assistant Qualifications:
* Certified Medical Assistant
* Preferably 1-3 years experience as medical assistant in office setting
* Pediatric experience is a plus but not required
* BLS certified

COVID-19 considerations:
Masks are still required to be worn in all offices by both staff and patients. We have a thorough cleaning process in all shared areas and exam rooms. All PPE is available to staff if they choose to use it. ie; goggles, face shields, n95 masks, gowns.

License/Certification:
