Job description
StayWell Health Center seeks:
A positive, caring, and motivated Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) who works quickly and efficiently and is able to multi-task well. The successful Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) must:
- be comfortable with direct patient care to a diverse population
- "Float" between our pediatrics and adult internal medicine departments
- be able to work collaboratively in a team approach providing outstanding medical care to our patients
- demonstrate good reasoning and decision-making skills
Some of the responsibilities of this Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) position include:
- Obtain patient medical history and perform/record vital signs
- Stock and clean exam rooms
- Complete Electronic Health Record requirements for state and federal compliance
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Current, unrestricted Medical Assistant Certification, current PPD testing result and immunizations, and current CPR certification
- Must be available to work 8-hour shifts between the hours of 7:30 AM and 8:00 PM; occasional evening and weekend hours are required
- Travel to all StayWell sites in Waterbury and Naugatuck is required
- Consistent, reliable transportation required between StayWell sites throughout the Greater Waterbury area
Preferred:
- Minimum one year prior community health care or medical outpatient care experience; willing to train qualified/motivated candidate
- Electronic Health Record experience
- Verbal and written bilingual (English-Spanish or English-Albanian) skills a plus
