SolarCraft’s Certified Electrician is based in our Novato, CA office and working in Marin, Sonoma and a little bit of Napa. This is a field electrician role that involves MPUs, interconnections, and help with our battery energy storage system (BESS) installations. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years’ experience installing and/or servicing BESS and solar PV systems, or equivalent experience in electrical or energy construction fields.
The primary responsibilities of the Certified Electrician are:
1) Work safely at all times, and ensure the safety of yourself, your team, & clients at the sites you are on.
2) Perform BESS installations, main AC panel upgrades and other electrical work related to BESS and solar PV installations (troubleshooting / repair).
3) Work collaboratively with Foremen/Superintendents, Project Managers and your team to ensure safety, quality, client satisfaction and project schedules and budgets are achieved.
Requirements & Responsibilities:
· California certified electrician
· Install, evaluate, and repair BESS and solar PV system components including but not limited to installing electrical service panels, electrical sub-panels, batteries, BESS control components, conduit and wire, electrical switchgear, switches and monitoring systems.
· Have relevant previous hands on experience in BESS or solar installations or construction, troubleshooting and service/repair of systems.
· Must be reliable, and demonstrate highly-ethical behavior and good judgment.
· Must be able to routinely lift 75 lbs., climb ladders, work in enclosed spaces, with technical build aptitude and familiarity with construction build sites
· Knowledge and ability to use construction hand tools, measuring devices, and power drills, conduit bending tools/machines, portable band saws, electrical measuring and testing devices, etc.
· Ability to work safely and confidently on roofs with ladder access, familiar with safety equipment, and healthy respect for working safely.
· The ability to read and understand project plan-sets, single-line drawings, and other design documents.
· Maintain a clean and orderly work site and at all times and represent the company well.
· Have a clean driving record and valid CA driver’s license.
· NABCEP certification or accredited PV installer certification a plus.
· High School graduate or equivalent
