Central Fill Pharmacy Technician

Hartig Drug is seeking a motivated, team oriented, full time Central Fill Pharmacy Technician to join their winning team in Dubuque, IA. This position will accurately and efficiently fill prescription requests in an automated refill setting. Under the supervision of a Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician prepares, packages, and distributes medications in a fast-paces production environment. Maintains continuous, consistent work flow in order to meet daily production goals; and has the ability to work productively either independently or as a team.
Essential Job Functions
- Fill prescription vials with prescribed tablets and capsules
- Replenish medication in automated cells to full capacity, opening large quantities of bottles and cases of product
- Basic mathematical reasoning either count or calculate appropriate number of units needed to fill prescriptions
- Place pharmaceutical products in appropriate containers and affix labels to containers in bulk
- Demonstrate problem solution skills: ability to recognize, address and escalate issues
- Maintain focus and acute attention to detail while performing repetitive tasks with absolute accuracy
- Understands and abides by federal and state HIPAA leas as well as pharmacy standard procedures to ensure patient safety and privacy
Work Hours: Full time position,approximately 40 hours weekly, non-exempt
Monday through Friday
Non–essential Job Functions
- Assist with other departments as needed
Requirements
- Must be registered with the applicable state within required time period and certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board within one year of date of hire
- Certification needs to be current and renewed as necessary
- Must be detail oriented and precise
- Strong customer service and teamwork skills
