Arena Food Service, Inc., a privately owned and fast growing food service management company, is currently seeking an experienced Catering Sales and Event Coordinator in University Park, Illinois.

The successful candidate will work within the Food and Dining program in a University setting, ensuring quality quality customer service within the catering department. The Catering Sales and Event Coordinator will work closely with the Dining Director to to assure the smooth operation and integration of all on-campus catered events within the facility. This position will provide customers with consistency and reliability when planning events from initial contact through post-event correspondence. Advancement potential within our organization for individuals who show drive and dedication to excellence.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide excellent customer service at all times.
• Work with clients to plan and execute a wide range of catered services within prescribed budgets.
• Take and process catering orders and communicate pertinent information to all stakeholders.
• Provide excellent communication through both verbal and written means.
• Manage the flow of event planning with clients, following prescribed policies and protocol.
• Present a professional demeanor that communicates a corporate philosophy of service, goodwill, and genuine interest in each individual clients needs.
• Assist in executing and service of all types of events.
• Work with Food Service Director in all aspects of providing great product and service for all clients.

To be considered for this position, a successful candidate should possess:

• Previous catering experience in a full service catering operation.
• Previous sales experience is a plus.
• Will be able to read, write and understand English.
• Great communication skills in both verbal and written form.
• Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Extensive experience in general word processing software.
• Experience with catering management software is a plus.
• Previous banquet experience.
• Will be in good mental and physical condition.
• Will be able to work productively with with a diverse group of co-workers.
• Will enjoy working with a wide range of catering clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Will be flexible in schedule.
• Must be able to pass a general background check.

Wage for this hourly position is competitive and will be based on previous experience. There is ample room for advancement for the right motivated person.
