Position Summary:
Performs administrative and clerical services such as customer support, accounting and reconcilement duties to ensure effective and efficient administrative operations. Collaborates between units to ensure operational commitments and service levels are achieved. This position is a critical function of the Bank and may require extended work hours and or work during business continuity periods.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides assistance and educates customers on Operating Circular 2 and Cash Services Manual of Procedures requirements. Serves as a point of contact for various internal and external customers. Serves as a District customer support contact (Atlanta only).
  • Serves as the backup to the Independent Proof function verifying Cash department daily balance documentation using source documents. Verifies daily and monthly notes destroyed. Compiles large notes and small notes for certification. Performs end of day balancing and settlement transactions in accordance with the Financial Accounting Manual and Planning and Control System (PACS) Manual guidelines.
  • Coordinates customer changes in Cash Services automated applications to include setting up service for new endpoints, changing existing endpoint information, canceling service, updating armored carrier information, and mergers.
  • Performs general administrative functions for the department such as verifying and transferring counterfeit notes to the United States Secret Service, ensuring all internal cash forms are updated annually, maintaining department records, filing systems, and subsidiary ledger system for each General Ledger account, compiling daily and monthly PACS statistics for external use, ensuring all coin orders and deposits are processed accurately in the Cash Service unique inventory and processing applications, and offsite coin terminals are balanced daily in the FedLine Web application.
  • Submits government agency entries in the Direct Voucher Submission (DVS) system to ensure debits/credits are functioned properly. Performs monthly GLSpeed entries for Same Day Settlements and currency and coin differences. Functions Lawson entries to distribute expenses of companies not accepting credit cards. Inputs monthly PACSWeb Planning and Control System (PACS) cash statistics which allows the Cash Services Department to provide uniform methods for accounting for expenses.
  • Processes financial accounting transactions/entries to depository institutions using accounting operating systems and Cash Services unique inventory and web-based applications. Demonstrates ability to resolve complex out of balance conditions. Navigates complex inventory tracking within relevant accounting systems to record batch statistics/inventory, transfers among internal valuables handling teams and external customers, and differences and other pertinent data elements. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of automated accounting and transfer records. Generates and prints customer currency order documents at scheduled times throughout the day.
  • Maintains a Pro-card and ensures FMP compliance with all associated procedures and policies. Compiles daily and monthly operational/quality statistics reports for internal and external use, supporting management’s responsibility and the District Cash Function Office’s centralized reporting function.
  • Trains other staff members on various administrative functions and assists management with identifying training needs.
  • Demonstrates ability to operate in a team environment with high results orientation; displays effective interpersonal skills; collaborates effectively with other units/teams; demonstrates effective problem resolution and support of goals and objectives.
Education: High School Diploma or GED Experience: Less than two years
