Kingwood Pines Hospital is a 116 bed facility located in the beautiful residential Kingwood community. We are located about 30 miles northeast of the Houston Medical Center. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services. We serve children, adolescents, and adults for psychiatric and behavioral health. The hospital also has services in intensive outpatient and partial hospital program services.

Position Summary
The Case Manager contacts external case managers/managed care organizations for certification and recertification of insurance benefits throughout the patient’s stay, and assists the treatment team in understanding the insurance company’s requirements for continued stay and discharge planning.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Provides clinical information to managed care companies, insurance companies and other third party reviewers to establish the length of stay or number of certified days.
- Conducts reviews and other communications and documentation as required by payor standards to obtain necessary certification to maximize reimbursement, and are the liaison for both internal and external reviewers
- Coordinates, monitor and manage patient through continuum of services.
- Coordinates discharge plans with family, guardians, and other appropriate service providers.

Qualifications:
- Associate Degree from an accredited college or university, in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- One (1) year of case management experience and one year inpatient psychiatric experience or comparable experience and demonstrated proficiency in psychiatric care required. Combination of education, licensure and experience and/or student internship hours may be considered.
- CPR and HWC Crisis Intervention training must be completed prior to beginning work.
- Will be required to work flexible hours.
