Job description

Installs wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists and stud work

Reads blueprints and designs to work to specifications prepared by other construction professionals, architects and building code recommendations

Ensures adherence to trade standards and observance of safety regulations, practices, and conducts weekly safety meetings.

Performs floor, wall, and roof rough carpentry/framing, layout/cut stairs and roofs, hangs drywall and tapes/finishes hangs/installs suspended ceiling tiles, textures walls in preparation for painting.

Installs sub flooring, flooring, tile, etc.

Installs siding, windows, doors, etc.

Installs various types of roofing systems.

Installs, repairs, and builds at grade and elevated wood decks, railings, and staircases.

Installs fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges and closures

Installs cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall and insulation

Builds and/or repairs sidewalks, driveways, builds forms and does other concrete work.

Follows general housekeeping duties at job-sites, shop and maintains shop and tools, including assigned vehicle(s), machinery, trailers, etc.

Selects lumber by size and strength to suit each job, sourcing wood to suit the customer’s budget and style

Liaising with clients, suppliers and other construction professionals

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
