- Current Food Handlers Card
- Current Fingerprint Clearance Card
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under supervision of Manager/Designee, provides routine care to residents. Assists as needed with activity of daily living (ADL) to insure that assigned residents are clean, comfortable, properly dressed and always wells groomed. Assists assigned residents with meals and snacks. Treats residents with kindness and respect. Encourages residents to maintain independence and self-confidence by offering choices whenever possible. Understands and promotes “Residents Rights”.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Clock in and out on time as scheduled.
- Receives report on assigned residents at start of shift. At the end of work period, gives updated report to oncoming shift.
- Keeps phone or walkie-talkie on person. All staff members will answer the phones.
- Caregivers that pass medications will follow the 5 rights of med administration. Inform manager or designee when medications are running low or residents concerns with medications.
- Caregivers that pass medications (Med-tech) will assist the other caregiver(s) with other related job duties. You are not here to just pass medications!
- Checks resident Q shift for A.M. and P.M. or as needed and Q3 hours on NOC.
- Assists residents with shower, shampoo, nail care (unless Diabetic), oral hygiene, dressing and grooming.
- Reports any changes in resident’s condition to manager or designee.
- Escorts assigned residents to and from activities, meals, or any place on campus.
- Positions, and turns bedfast residents every two hours if ordered by physician.
- Assists residents with ambulation.
- Assists residents with toileting.
- Assists/Remind residents of activities, meals, and appointments.
- Keeps resident rooms neat and attractive.
- Empty garbage Q shift.
- Reports the following:
- Weights and vital signs as ordered by physician/Manager
- Intake and output if ordered by physician.
- Bowel movement if ordered by physician, home health service, i.e. Hospice Home Health nurses.
- Percentage of food eaten as directed under orders of a physician.
- Related duties as assigned by supervisor.
