Affinity Behavioral Care is looking for caring and patient individuals to join our residential behavioral health team working in various locations in the Goodyear area (west valley). We welcome individuals with both caregiver experience and/or behavioral health tech (BHT) experience.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (not just limited to these) :
- Assisting adults with chronic mental illness and/or substance abuse disorders
- Assisting with self-administration of their medications
- Responsible for implementing the daily activity and house programming schedules
- Transporting residents to scheduled program activities/events, outings, medical/dental appointments, and local agencies associated with their treatment plan
- Responsible for ensuring the safety of the residents and house
- Responsible for prompting the residents to follow their individual daily schedule
- Encouraging residents to participate in exercise/wellness activities (i.e. walks in the neighborhood)
- Assisting and prompting residents with daily living skills & ADLs, when applicable
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate
- At least 21 years of age
- Required to have excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail is preferred
PHYSICAL & MENTAL ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Be able to lift at least 25 pounds
- Be able to drive the company vehicles
- Be able to complete required trainings and meetings as scheduled
- Be able to respond to emergencies as directed
- Be able to physically perform the primary responsibilities within the defined working conditions
OTHER CERTIFICATIONS NEEDED :
- Current CPR Training Certification
- Current 1st Aid Training Certification
- Current AZ Valid Driver’s License
- Current Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card - Level 1
- Current Pre-employment Physical Exam
- Current TB test or chest XRAY exam (certain situations)
WORKING CONDITIONS & EQUIPMENT OPERATIONS:
- Able to use computer, fax machine, scanner, printer, and telephone
- Able to create and edit daily Progress Notes and MARS as instructed without error
- Able to drive a facility vehicle
- Able to use standard kitchen and laundry equipment
- Able to remain standing on feet for long periods of time
- Able to type and compose assigned documents
- Requires going in and out of the facility several times a day
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, weekends, on call
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour (starting pay depends on the position applied for as well as shift availability mixed with experience and/or education)
