Job Summary: The Career Transition Manager, plans direct and supervises the activities of the Career Transition Phase of the CDSS program.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Position directly supervises Career Transition staff.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Supervises Career Transition staff. Meets with staff regularly and as needed at remote sites
  • Approves placement documentation in accordance of PRH requirements
  • Receives weekly, monthly, and annual reports and verifies accuracy. Prepares RIMS report. Monitors statistical reports to evaluate and assess weaknesses and strengths
  • Screens and monitors placement information
  • Evaluates performance of staff. Establishes performance standards to evaluate CDSS staff effectiveness
  • Maintains budget. Ensures that Career Development offices have adequate supplies and equipment
  • Secures job leads. Assists in job development and relocation activities, linkages and leads. Evaluates and seeks trends in relation to Labor Market Information
  • Coordinates Job Fairs, Career Days and Military Days. Attends WIA Local Board meetings. Visits agencies, businesses, and other job-related resources. Provides orientations regarding Job Corps to external resources
  • Establishes and maintains close communication with the Center Director and all CDSS staff
  • Prepares and submits activity reports as required by the Center Director.
  • Promote and provides good working relationships with local business, Career Centers, Social Service Agencies, Military personnel, Colleges, Post-Secondary Schools/Training personnel and High School Administrators.
  • Projects statistical information and establishes goals for upcoming year
  • Develops Center Operating Directives. Develops Comprehensive Plan on a yearly basis
  • Attends seminars and conferences to keep abreast of changes and trends, as well as required staff training
  • Trains and cross-trains staff. Keeps staff informed of program issues, changes, etc.
  • Promotes activities geared towards employability
  • Models the company core values at all times
  • Attends staff training sessions as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in work related field. Three years’ work related experience, one of which involved direct managerial/supervisory responsibilities.

Preferred: Two or more years managerial experience.

Knowledge: Must be able to effectively relate to culturally diverse and disadvantaged youth. Excellent communication skill, both oral and written. Excellent organizational skills. Good analytical skills. Sound management techniques. Ability to handle multiple priorities. Must obtain and maintain valid CPR/FA certificate.

Schedule:
