JOB TITLE: Forklift Operator - Can Crusher

***Sign-On Bonus: The Company shall pay a sign-on bonus of $500. First $250 of the sign-on bonus paid after ninety (90) calendar days of the employment and final $250 paid after one-hundred eighty (180) calendar days of employment, less all required tax withholding and other applicable deductions.

Position Summary:

The Recycle Technician oversees the destruction and recycling of all recyclable materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Forklift Certification and experience is required for this position.
• Responsible for keeping production lines free of non-conforming product that has been dispersed into “Specified “containers by using automated can crushing equipment and lift.
• Can crushing area must be kept clean at all times by using water hose to remove standing/pooling liquids and can debris.
• Specified” containers to include metal Hoppers must be returned to production lines clean and ready for next use.
• Daily cleaning of exterior dock/dumpster areas inside and outside.
• Daily cleaning and removal of debris from exterior parking lot around dumpster areas.
• Assist management when asked to perform other duties such as, but not limited to, sanitation to the production lines and the cleaning of specific production line equipment.
• Assist sanitation department with the operation of the floor scrubbers to maintain the clean appearance and sanitation of production area floors.
• Assist production line operators if “no work is available during shift” in the sanitation and cleaning of Production line equipment during any scheduled downtime.
• Assist with loading and clearing production line floor of all recycle materials to recycle trailers.
• Maintain a daily specified minimum target completion to be documented on the Recycle Technician Log.
• Any other assistance required or requested by management.
• Other duties may be assigned

The individual should possess the necessary technical skills to effectively perform the essential duties and adapt to changes made in the work environment. The individual should execute the duties while maintaining a professional attitude with encouraging teamwork and an ethical approach. The individual needs to promote the company’s Mission Statement and demonstrate commitment to the safety and quality of the food produced. The individual needs to have a willingness to follow direction and problem solve to generate suggestions for improving the work environment. The individual must have a high school diploma or related experience and/or training.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work in wet, humid, and outdoor conditions. The employee is also exposed to varying temperature extremes including heat and cold as the weather varies. The employee is occasionally exposed to work on elevated platforms, with fumes or airborne particles, or with toxic or caustic chemicals. This employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee will regularly lift and/or move moderate weights and may occasionally lift and/or move heavy weights. Specific detailed vision abilities are required by this job, including Distance vision, Color Vision, Peripheral vision and Depth perception. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, have dexterity of hands, reach with hands and arms, and communicate.
