The Buyer/Planner is responsible for the day-to-day activities of buying and planning for the manufacturing facility. The individual in this role will possess experience in the sourcing/buying/planning and function as the interface between Power Packer and supplier to determine new and alternative cost-effective manufacturing process as continuous improvement in cost, quality, and productivity. The Buyer/Planner will be responsible for monitoring and reporting key metrics such as supplier OTD, Non-conformance activity and 8D’s as well as tracking PPV and monitoring and reducing inventory.

Responsibilities:

• Determines on a daily basis the purchase requirements for the raw materials and shipping supplies in order to assure the proper inventory to support the production forecast and requirements.
• Place POs with the vendors and perform the required follow up to assure timely delivery of product.
• Support day-to-day activities addressing NCMR, SCAR’s and support 8D.
• Assist with quality problem resolutions with input from suppliers and cross functional teams.
• Track vendor performance to ensure productivity, timely deliveries, high service levels and adherence to quality specifications and all other business requirements and ensure accurate documentation is reflected on purchase orders and communicate any issues.
• Understand and enforce procurement policies and procedures
• Communicate activities and information timely and effectively with appropriate associates, internally and externally, domestically, and internationally
• Assist Supply Chain Leader to develop policy, process, and documentation to continuously improve supplier chain performance
• Initiates cost reduction proposals, compiles appropriate information, makes recommendations for action, and checks on results obtained.
• Serve as the primary interface with our strategic suppliers, building strong business relationships, possess solid business acumen and be an effective communicator.
• Interface with customer service and production to coordinate production planning and establish ship dates to customers.
• Monitor and track inventory levels.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in a business/engineering related field (preferred)
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ sourcing experience (preferred).
• Must be computer proficient in MS Windows, Blueprint, and technical drawings.
• Experienced in establishing procurement/supplier milestone schedules and ensure schedule adherence as agreed upon by your cross functional team.
• Knowledge of MRP systems.
• Experience working with basic financial statements and the ability to perform financial stability analysis of suppliers to be used in supplier selection.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
