Job description

As a Principal Buyer, you will purchase a high volume of IT, AV, and other materials, supplies and services in a fast-paced environment. In assuming this position, you will be a critical contributor to meeting Empower AI’s mission: To deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions and services that enable our customers to readily adapt to dynamic environments.

Responsibilities

-Purchase a high volume of IT, AV, and other materials, supplies and services in a fast-paced environment.

-Evaluate bids, select suppliers, and negotiate prices and terms of software licensing, purchase orders, and other agreements.

- Document procurement file to support successful CPSR in accordance with company policies and FAR/DFARS.

-Monitor vendor performance, ensure timely deliveries, and take appropriate corrective actions.

-Perform closeout activities.

-Act as focal point with other departments to resolve problems relating to contractual requirements, deliveries, communication, and invoicing.

-Support proposal preparation by obtaining supplier quotes that meet the requirements of the RFQ.

-Build customer relationships in order to anticipate customer needs and issues.

-Perform other related duties as assigned.

-Assist less experienced buyers with resolving problems.

-Ability to prioritize competing work assignments and initiative to complete tasks.

-Assist in development of strategic suppliers.

-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience

-7-12 years’ experience performing similar work in a CPSR environment

-Ability to juggle competing, high priority tasks

-Strong background in negotiating terms and conditions, such as software licensing (EULA)

-Working knowledge of FAR & DFARS regulations

- Deltek Costpoint

- Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook e-mail
