Job Summary

Archaea Energy, a leader in the landfill gas to energy industry has an opening for a Buyer position at our Rostraver Office in Belle Vernon, PA. The Buyer is responsible for creating purchase orders, placing orders, follow-up, core tracking, shop rebuild adjustments and closing assigned paperwork in support of the Power Generation, Engineering, Construction and Environmental Compliance groups. This position also provides administrative support to the Rostraver, PA facility. The Buyer reports to the Purchasing Manager.

Schedule

Monday thru Friday 8am to 4:30pm with some overtime required to meet various operational needs. Rotating 24/7 on call in case of plant emergencies requiring immediate resolution. Schedule is subject to change per management discretion.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Strong commitment to safety, active participation in safety training and notifies management of unsafe working conditions in the warehouse.
  • Wears all required personal protective equipment (PPE) which includes but may not be limited to ear plugs or muffs for ear protection, safety glasses and steel toe safety boots.
  • Accurate processing of all assigned vendor administration, procurement and purchase order paperwork in accordance with company procedures and supervisor’s direction.
  • Completes work accurately and with a sense of urgency, thereby mitigating part stock outs and downtime due to supply issues.
  • Performs daily administrative functions for assigned plants, to help insure accurate inventory and account processing.
  • Communicates professionally and effectively and provides superior customer service to all internal/external customers and with individuals from all levels of the organization.
  • Processes assigned incoming material/returns to the warehouse within 48 hours.
  • Assists with monitoring inventory levels by conducting physical counts, reconciling with data in Acumatica system.
  • Provides critical need backup to other procurement personnel as assigned.
  • Overtime maybe required to meet various business needs.
  • Responds to all call outs 24/7, on assigned days, in case of any emergencies and failures.
  • This is not a complete list of duties. The Buyer may be required to perform additional duties deemed necessary by management.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to handle diverse tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and urgency.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Oral communications skills.
  • Written communication skills.
  • Computer Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer, Inventory system).
  • Organization Skills.
  • Purchasing and parts ordering.
  • Reading blueprints.
  • Forklift certified (preferred).
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Must be able to crouch, bend and kneel for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in an environment of loud noises and varying temperatures.
  • Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Higher education is preferred.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, PowerPoint, Acumatica and computer-based inventory system knowledge.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must pass background check, physical, hearing and drug test.
  • This position will be on call 24/7, on a rotating basis, in case of any plant emergencies and failures.
