The Business Systems Analyst will support the planning, design, development and launch of Client Companies’ new Dynamics 365 F&O (Finance and Operations) implementation. The role will examine and evaluate business processes and information reporting requirements for Client Companies for the assigned functions, which may include general accounting, planning, AR, AP, Fixed Assets and Procure to Pay. This professional will partner with consulting experts and business SME’s to develop and implement best practices for processes, data structures, internal controls and reporting.
The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for preparing process documentation, defining key internal controls, preparing functional specifications for reports, interfaces, and conversions, developing test plans and educational materials; and executing all tests related to implementations and upgrades. The role is also responsible for end-user support for new software and associated business processes and will spend extensive time working directly with end-users to get them functional on the new system.
Job Responsibilities:
•Work collaboratively with consultants, Operations, Finance and other business partners to gather requirements and design business processes and operational reports in support of the new Financial Systems.
•Identify opportunities to improve business processes leveraging the Financial Systems software and the Microsoft Power Platform. Implement processes that are accurate, streamlined, and well documented with an emphasis on providing timely and accurate financial data to the business.
•Network with peers and industry groups to benchmark best practices and incorporate them into the D365 system design.
•Prepare deliverables, including process flows and scripts, key internal controls, test plans, functional specifications for reports, interfaces and conversions and end-user education materials. The position may also author reports utilizing PowerBI and other report development tools.
•Partner with other Business Systems Analysts on the integration of D365 with Job Cost with Human Resources, Payroll, General Ledger, and other applications.
•Drive adoption of the D365 software by providing personal, on-site training and support to Management, Finance and Administrative staff.
•Build the capabilities of end-users to access and use the data in a rigorous manner that is foundational to sound decision-making and ongoing reporting accuracy. Develop materials and provide training that establishes the required initial user acumen and can be leveraged for ongoing educational needs.
•Develop and codify the highest leverage performance metrics related to financial performance. Design and deliver reports that help optimize business performance and support internal controls.
•Partner with cloud application vendors to ensure systems are performing as designed, information is timely and accurate, and end-users are functioning effectively on the new platform. Prioritize and resolve system issues. Identify and prioritize future enhancement requests.
Qualifications
Specialty/Job-Related knowledge, skills & abilities:
•Proven track record of leveraging information systems to drive process improvements.
•Excellent project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work. Familiarity with system implementation best practices and methodologies.
•Experience with documenting functional requirements and design specifications for systems implementations.
I ndustry-specific knowledge, skills & abilities:
•Familiarity with construction management and job cost practices for the construction industry is preferred. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or equivalent software product is desired.

Education and/or on-the-job experience:
•Five or more years of general and/or operational accounting experience, CPA is a plus.
•Two to five years of professional experience with system implementation and support for a Fortune 1000 caliber company or large, multi-location mid-size enterprise.
•Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or equivalent.
•Hands on experience with at least one ERP financial system conversion.
