MSC Cruises is hiring a Business Development Specialist for our Inside Sales team in Fort Lauderdale, FL. We operate a hybrid working model whereby you work in the office 2-3 days / week. This role initiates, develops and maintains Travel Partners relationships within assigned territory. Designs and implements local marketing and promotional programs to achieve and exceed territory sales objectives and goals. Assumes the role of brand ambassador by delivering positive message to Travel Partners using a variety of strategic and innovative methods while building trust.

Responsibilities

Builds and maintains strong business relationships with all accounts within assigned territory

Identifies new business opportunities and seeks ways to expand partnerships

Uses tailored approach to build value in the product and make recommendations. Anticipates and overcomes objections

Plays active role in problem solving situations, models outstanding customer service

Plans and implements strategic Marketing campaigns with key accounts, targeting specific products

Communicates effectively new and existing Promotional programs within the territory, provides marketing support

Plans daily activities in line with call log expectations Works with peers to identify opportunities and improve performance through sharing “best practices”

Maintains current account database and ensures accuracy Manages Co-Op and Travel budget within guidelines

Conducts seminars, familiarization cruises, cruise events, trade and consumer shows, etc. as needed

Occasional weekend assignments may be required

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred

Able to work in the office 2 days / week

Prior sales experience, preferably within the travel industry. Background managing relationships with travel partners ideal.

Experience using Customer Contact Management systems preferred

Experienced with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Ability to build personal credibility by way of solid product knowledge, procedures, consistent follow-through and problem solving skills

Ability to analyze ROI plans Business acumen – maintain current knowledge of industry and market competitive trends

Must be able to work independently, adapt to change and take initiative with projects

Must be detailed oriented with strong planning and organizational skills

Possess a strong competitive drive, an assertive personality, an outgoing demeanor and a resilient outlook
