Summary

This position is a key member of the Fairbanks Morse Services (FMS) Finance team. The main focus of the Business Analyst is to improve FMS’s profitability by analyzing its finances and business model. One key aspect of the role is being a business partner between the SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) teams and FMS finance. In this role the Business Analyst will be responsible for forecasting and reporting out on the performance and impacts SIOP is having within the business.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  • From continual review of FMS’s budgets and financial performance, make recommendations, and help refine operations and increase efficiency.
  • Support the creation of detail business analysis and financial modeling activities, outlining problems, opportunities, and solutions for business initiatives.
  • Support detailed cost analysis for complex proposals
  • Help define business reporting requirements and their coordination across Fairbanks Morse Defense (FMD) business units.
  • Monitor, analyze, maintain and effectively communicate the Services demand planning portion of SIOP for all FMD business units incorporating key business unit attributes such as lead times, capacity constraints and inventory replenishment strategies.
  • Coordinate, manage and monitor the monthly business forecast and variance analysis.
  • Facilitate messaging between FMS leadership and the FMD business unit leadership teams.
  • Understand and evaluate the impacts increased inventory has on both working capital and future revenue.
  • Develop and maintain a process for forecasting parts revenue and parts that are on service projects
  • Provide guidance, direction and help mentor all fellow associates
Qualifications and Educational Requirements
  • BS or BA in Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering or related field required
  • Minimum one year experience in similar analyst role in manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated experience in capacity management, supply management, inventory control/planning, production scheduling and/or data analytics
  • Experience with Salesforce or equivalent CRM tools to develop financial forecasts in desirable
  • Must possess strong analytical and technical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to present ideas clearly and convincingly
  • Ability to synthesize large sets of data into reports or presentations that are beneficial to the business
  • Proficiency in use of an ERP computer software package.
  • This position includes access or potential access to export-controlled data. Therefore, you will need to qualify as a U.S. Person, which is defined as a U.S. Citizen, a U.S. Permanent Resident or a political asylee in compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
