The purpose of this position is to provide social and leisure opportunities for seniors by coordinating transportation with scheduled senior activities, in conjunction with the Senior Center Supervisor. Transportation includes operation of a 24-passenger bus and 15 passenger van safely, effectively and efficiently. Other assigned duties include providing information, referrals, set up/clean up in relation to activities, obtaining tickets to events, maintaining transportation use logs, various vehicle and building maintenance tasks. This position does not provide direction to other employees.

• Provides premier customer service to internal and external customers by responding to requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Assists Senior Center Supervisor with recreational and social programs for seniors by supervising, volunteers, assists with set-up and maintenance of facilities, assists with securing supplies and materials, assists with effectiveness program logs by tracking use numbers.
• Assists Senior Center Supervisor by communicating with miscellaneous agencies for available services/tickets.
• Assists Senior Center Supervisor by answering questions and inquiries.
• Maintains roster/routes and schedules passenger pickup for each day/week. Picks passengers up at their homes and brings them to the Senior Center. At the conclusion of activity, picks passenger up from the Senior Center and takes them back to their home. In some cases, may drive to/from other locations Senior Center activities are being held.
• Drives the bus for Senior Center trips and other City-related trips/events, as needed.
• Maps out routes for picking up passengers, supplies and trips ensuring driver and passenger safety.
• Regular attendance required.
• Other duties as assigned

• Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes. Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency.
• At least one year of related experience required.
• Basic experience using a PC and Microsoft programs is required.
• Ability to successfully to utilize electronic navigation systems/maps on phone or computer.
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement in conjunction with Class “C” Driver’s License required
• CPR and First Aid required (or ability to obtain within six months of hire)
