Pacific Coast Producers , one of the nation's top food production companies is seeking to fill a Boiler Mechanic position with a highly capable individual. The position is based in a fast-pace, high volume production facility in Woodland, CA.

Pacific Coast Producers or "PCP" is an agricultural cooperative, and a food production company owned by California growers. Our Woodland facility maintains production lines for canning various tomato products for customer delivery and satisfaction. Each PCP facility utilizes complex technology and equipment that require skilled, talented, and motivated personnel to function properly.

These positions are part of a seniority based collective bargaining unit and require work on various shifts with potential for a great deal of overtime during the processing season. To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

  • Work history relative to this field (Boiler or Instrumentation)
  • Must possess a fundamental and functional understanding of steam, piping and water systems and proven mechanical ability.
  • The journey level Boiler Room Mechanic/Operator would have full responsibility under Plant Management or Head/Lead Boiler Mechanic/Operator for the efficient and safe operation, maintenance and repair of all boiler room equipment.

Job Requirements:

  • Roll in boiler tubes (maintenance only, not new construction).
  • Make water analyses.
  • Make stack gas analyses.
  • Stat, stop, test, time, adjust, operate and repair/maintain equipment/machinery; including the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems.
  • Read sketches, prints, and operating instructions and proceed accordingly to construct, install, repair, and maintain all processing equipment. (E.g. boiler etc.).
  • Lubricate, clean and paint equipment as needed.
  • Keep simple operating and maintenance records on equipment.
  • Consult with supervision on needed repairs or changes.
  • Operate and maintain water softening and water treatment equipment.
  • Responsible for maintenance and operating of the air compressed generation.
  • May repair or replace steam and water valves throughout the plant.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with supervision and production personnel.
  • Observe all company's safety rules, policies and procedures.
  • Shall perform all duties in compliance with customer, 3rd party, regulatory, and company food safety and quality initiatives and standards.
  • May be required to have license to operate boilers.
  • May repair and maintain other cannery equipment.
  • May operate a forklift.
  • Check materials and parts. Make appropriate requisitions. (E.g. Order maintenance and repair supplies and materials used in mechanical work in department).
  • Weld, including Heliarc and Stainless Steel.
  • Cut and form parts and assemble parts to construct machinery and equipment.
  • Locate, line up and anchor machinery.
  • May oil, grease, clean and do maintenance painting.
  • May assist other mechanics in General Maintenance, not department specific.
  • Responsible for the cleanup of his/her and machine, including good housekeeping practices.

Pay Rate: $35.42 per hour. Full time/ 40 hours per week with some weekend and overtime hours required when needed.
