Job Description: We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our school team for the upcoming school year. As a BCBA, you will work collaboratively with students, teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement effective behavior intervention plans and strategies to support students with behavioral challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and develop individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) based on assessment results.
- Provide training and guidance to teachers, paraprofessionals, and other school staff on behavior management techniques and strategies.
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior support plans for students.
- Collect and analyze data on student behavior to monitor progress and make data-driven decisions.
- Conduct ongoing observations and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of behavior interventions and modify strategies as needed.
- Provide direct behavior support and intervention to students, including implementing behavior plans and teaching replacement behaviors.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to develop strategies for managing challenging behaviors at home and promoting generalization of skills.
- Conduct staff training sessions and workshops on behavior management and evidence-based interventions.
- Stay current with research and best practices in the field of applied behavior analysis (ABA) and behavior management in schools.
- Attend team meetings, IEP meetings, and other school-related meetings as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
- Master's degree in behavior analysis, psychology, special education, or a related field.
- Previous experience working as a BCBA in a school or educational setting is strongly preferred.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of behavior management principles, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and positive behavior support strategies.
- Familiarity with special education laws and regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze data to inform decision-making.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced school environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students and respond to changing situations.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
