Must Haves

  • Strong field delineation experience is the main requirement. (preferably within wetland vegetation, hydric wetland soils, hydrology, biology, botany)
  • Must be knowledgeable enough to work independently in the field.
  • Strong background in plant and wildlife identification, soils evaluation, hydrology, GPS use, mitigation planning, permit preparation, and be able to conduct work year-round in adverse climate and field conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail in order to ensure compliance with relevant state/federal regulations and client specific requirements.
  • Ability to lead a small team.
  • The ability to travel is required (typically short-term).
  • Good writing and communication skills.
  • BS in an Environmental, Biological, Ecological Science or related field is required.

Plusses

  • 4 or more years of experience in conducting environmental fieldwork and reporting is preferred.
  • Local district experience
  • Trimble GPS experience

Day-to-day

Our client in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Wetland Scientist to assist on various types of projects primarily in the transportation, energy, and commercial markets. This role will be expected to conduct field delineations for wetlands, threatened and endangered species and other related projects in the natural resources sector. Candidates will be expected to be in the field for a few days then back in the office writing reports and proposal development..

  • Lead in conducting field delineations of Waters of the U.S. (including wetlands) according to USACE standards.
  • Lead in conducting habitat assessments for threatened and endangered species.
  • Conduct stream and wetland mitigation planning.
  • Lead in conducting mitigation site monitoring.
  • Conduct Section 404 permitting.
  • Prepare various types of reports and NEPA documentation.
  • The position will involve preparing field reports, internal correspondence, and formal reports and proposals.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
