Job Summary and Qualifications
The BI Analyst II is part of the IT/Business Intelligence department (part of Finance team) of the Risk & Insurance group of HCA, and will serve the team through data interpretation, designing highly complex ad hoc reports and dashboards, supporting existing automated reports, and being a part of strategic initiatives designed to enhance the quality of care. This goal will be achieved by collaborating with cross-functional business teams and utilizing BI Tools, such as Microsoft SQL, Power BI and Excel, to advance the reporting needs and capabilities of the enterprise.
What you will do in this role:
- Create various reports, scorecards, and dashboards to support business owner and team objectives using business intelligence platforms, such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau and Microsoft Excel.
- Accurately interpret business requirements and translate into actionable data visualizations.
- Effectively communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ensure data integrity in the creation of reports, scorecards, dashboards, etc.
- Conduct high level analysis of metadata to identify areas of opportunity for performance improvement associated with initiatives, key indicators, metrics, measures, or outcomes within the enterprise.
- Create and prepare presentations or reports to be presented to the Risk & Insurance leadership team.
- Collaborate with other internal team members and cross-functional business partners to develop additional reporting capabilities.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer technology required
- 3+ years of experience in business intelligence platforms, such as Microsoft Power BI preferred
- 1+ years of experience in healthcare preferred
- Expertise in business intelligence platforms, such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, etc. required
- Proficient in (SQL) required
- Possesses strong organizational and process analysis skills required
- Excellent presentation and communication skills [verbal and written] are essential required
- Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent projects within deadlines required
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts preferred
