PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
  • Provide and expedite food and beverage orders for guests, taking drink orders and bussing services
  • Actively market venue; which includes participating in marketing requirements and outings, including but not limited to:
o Assist in developing restaurant database through networking and completing data cards
o Build and establish personal clientele list
o Weekly table reservations
o (3) to (4) organic posts to one of the following social platforms with information provided by the marketing team: Facebook, Instagram, and Instagram Stories
o Sharing of venues Facebook posts onto their own channels for branding and awareness
o Posting and engaging (liking and commenting) with the venue’s social media posts, as well as engaging with review sites, such as Yelp
  • Maintain table cleanliness using silent service approach
  • Assist in running foods, bussing tables, and marking appropriate silverware when necessary
  • Itemize bills correctly and efficiently process payments; following established check settlement procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness and stock of assigned areas, side stations, tables, and POS stations
  • Maintain quality services standards by visiting guests’ tables and processing/executing services requests
  • Command full menu knowledge and preparation techniques
  • Greet guests in a positive, friendly manner, and exemplifying MGM SHOW standards
  • Perform all opening and closing duties, based upon shift assignment
  • Communicate with management and service team to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests or other employees
  • Participate in modeling, presentations, and promotional events and programs throughout the casino and resort
  • May perform in public relations capacity, representing venue and MGM National Harbor at on- and off-site special events, which may require designer or special wardrobe and multiple costume changes
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested
SUPERVISION:
  • N/A

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a server/cocktail in a similar, high-volume bar, nightclub, or fine dining establishment
  • Effectively communicate in English, both oral and written forms
  • At least 21 years old

PREFERRED:
  • Current or previous modeling experience
  • Previous marketing experience
  • Previous experience in a similar resort environment
  • Previous experience using social media platforms, especially with utilization for branding and/or marketing
  • Bilingual, with English as primary or secondary language

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Gaming registration as required by the state of Maryland

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Indoor working conditions with hot and cold surfaces, steam, and wet floors
  • Varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Moderate to high noise levels
  • Able to walk or stand on various surfaces for long periods of time
  • Physical ability to access all areas of the restaurant, withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending, kneeling, and lifting and carrying items weighing at least 50 pounds

PRIMARY PURPOSE

It is the primary responsibility of the Model Cocktail Server to expedite guests’ drink orders and provide beverage and bus service. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and company policies, practices, and procedures.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide and expedite beverage orders for guests
  • Maintain cleanliness and stock of assigned area, side station, tables, and POS station
  • Perform on-stage in comedy act, photo-shoots and other marketing events for purpose of developing and marketing the brand, attend activities outside of venue
  • Actively use social media to engage the guest in an immersive and interactive experience
  • Collect money and follow all proper cash handling and comp procedures
  • Focus on the development of a personal clientele list
  • Maintain assigned wardrobe and/or costumes in accordance with established standard
  • Resolve guest complaints within scope of authority; otherwise refer the matter to management; notify supervisor and/or Security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft
  • Assist management with training and mentoring new employees as requested
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledgeable of beverages on menu, including characteristics of wine and champagne by the glass, major wines, liquor brands, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, terminology, and garnishes
  • Able to wear designer clothing with flair and techniques associated with modeling industry requirements
  • Posture, gestures, movement and walking should reflect the innovative fashion industry aesthetics
  • Knowledge of health, safety and sanitation regulations
  • Knowledgeable of computers and Point of Sale (POS) systems
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms
  • Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays

  • High School diploma or equivalent
