Job Summary and Qualifications

Seeking a Behavioral Medicine Program Therapist I to become a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team that provides age-appropriate direct clinical care to behavioral medicine patients. The Behavioral Medicine Program Therapist I will coordinate with other team members and will be responsible for conducting individual, group, and family therapy as needed, as well as completion of assessments and other required clinical documentation.

What You Will Do In This Role:

• You will provide age-appropriate individual, group and family therapy.

• You will provides psychoeducational groups as clinically indicated. • You will complete integrated biopsychosocial and other assessments, as needed, in a timely manner.

• You will also complete required documentation in patients’ records in a thorough and timely manner.
• You will communicate with team members and may assist, as assigned, with referrals to the community.
• You will participate in community activities related to scope of care.

What Qualifications You Will Need:

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field.
• Two years’ experience in a mental health setting is preferable.
• Licensed in the State of Texas as a Licensed Master of Social Work, Licensed Clinical Social Worker OR
• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).

Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital has been nationally recognized for its record setting kidney, liver and pancreas transplant programs. The hospital is home to the Texas Transplant Institute. We are the largest living donor kidney transplant program in the US. In 2019 the center reached a major milestone by performing 231 living donor kidney transplants in a single year. This set a new national record, 65 more transplants than the second center on the list. This is acknowledged in the United Network of Organ Sharing database.
