TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Although it is not possible to provide an exhaustive list of all types of duties, responsibilities and performance standards, the following are essential job functions:
- Be at work on time and ready to start work.
- Regular attendance required during regular business hours; is subject to supervision during working hours; requires interactions with coworkers and supervisors.
- Participates in staff development and staff meetings as required and appropriate.

- Remains in visual proximity of all clients.

- Follows goals and objectives for individual clients.
- Follows schedule to open and close activities in a timely manner.
- Assists fellow behavior technicians as needed.
- Notifies program manager and BCBA of ideas for programming updates.
- Informs operation manager of potential hazards/problems in the environment.
- Maintains any documentation in addition to the use of the online portal as requested by BCBA and program manager
- Follows a set standards of all operational, educational, and clinical paperwork.
- Consistently displays professionalism in his/her interactions with parents and clients alike.
- Has a solution-based attitude when problem solving with parents, behavior technicians, BCBA and others in the clinical environment.
- Ensures client and family confidentiality by complying with A-B policies and procedures, HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accessibility Act) requirements, and any other privacy requirements as may be specified.
Theraputic
- Works collaboratively with BCBA, program manager and other primary therapists to gain familiarity with clients’ treatment plans
- Report any clinical limitations that may impede client’s therapeutic progress to the BCBA or the appropriate primary therapist
- Demonstrates mastery in knowledge of basic behavior analytic principles (as outlined by BCBA)
- Demonstrates understanding of various behavior analytic teaching methods (as outlined by BCBA)
- Demonstrates understanding of 1:1 direct therapy guidelines
- Demonstrates advanced observational skills during training sessions
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of client’s progress data and graphic representation
- Assist BCBA and primary therapists in data collection procedures as requested
Maintain Records
- Collects daily data through the use of the online portal, data sheets, and daily sheets
- Demonstrates understanding of clients’ overall and specific goals
- Ensures the safety and security of clients, staff, volunteers and visitors by knowing and following all safety procedures as required by A-B policies and procedures and understands the consequences of non-compliance.
- Adheres to code of ethics policies and procedures as defined in the Employee Handbook.
Team Work:
- Asks questions of others to seek clarity and understanding both individually and in group situations; seeks guidance from the BCBA, therapy team.
- Self-Management: Performs assigned tasks and job duties with self-confidence and self-assurance while knowing professional limits and requesting assistance when necessary
- Consistently models a positive, motivating demeanor at all times.
- Uses skills in teambuilding and communication effectively and efficiently to assist peers.
- Works closely with the BCBA, program manager and therapy team to develop skills while providing quality therapy.
- Skills/Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor Degree preferred; will take a combination of education and experience.
- Age: Must be 18 years of age or older per State and Federal standards
- Demonstrates knowledge of special education practices
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication.
- Positive Influential Behavior, team building and promoting process improvement.
Professional Certification:
- Preferably enrolled in Undergraduate coursework in Behavioral Analysis, Child Development, Psychology, Education or a related field- but not required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills. ·
- Handle fast-paced environment with multiple priorities with a high degree of efficient and accuracy.
- Handle information in a confidential manner.
- Exceptional organizational skills, communication skills (oral and written) and memory required.
- Neatness, thoroughness and timeliness required.
- Able to pass A-B standard criminal background check.
Skills/Abilities: Includes but not limited to:
- Telephone
- Computer: knowledge of Windows operating system and Office products including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, or ability to learn independently.
- Copy machine
- Calculator
- Work independently with minimum supervision and maximum accountability.
Physical limitations:
- Work at child's level in therapy sessions (bending, kneeling, and sitting on floor).
- Infrequently transfer, lift, carry, push or pull 50 pounds or more. WORKING CONDITIONS AND HOURS: Primary conditions; local travel throughout the Metroplex may be required for training purposes. Some work in storage areas. General hours of operation are 7:30 am-6:00 pm Monday through Friday with a 30-minute lunch break. Hours are subject to change and are based on the needs of the company. Some additional evening, early morning and weekend work may be required with this position. Flexibility in hours will be determined in consultation with supervisor.
