Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Barista to join our team. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting and serving high-quality coffee beverages and providing excellent customer service. Your passion for coffee and ability to create a welcoming atmosphere will contribute to the overall success of our establishment. Starting rate is $12 per hour plus tips. Staff pastry and drink while on the clock.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, such as espresso, cappuccino, latte, and brewed coffee, according to customer preferences and established recipes.
• Operate espresso machines and other equipment needed to make coffee drinks.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring proper sanitation and hygiene practices are followed at all times.
• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, taking their orders accurately and efficiently.
• Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, making recommendations, and addressing any concerns or complaints.
• Handle cash transactions and operate the cash register, ensuring accuracy in handling payments and providing correct change.
• Upsell additional products, such as pastries or snacks, to enhance the customer experience and increase sales.
• Assist in managing inventory levels by restocking supplies and monitoring stock rotation to ensure freshness.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a smooth workflow and ensure a positive work environment.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations, to ensure compliance.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a barista or in a similar role is preferred but not required; we are willing to train the right candidate.
• A genuine passion for coffee and a desire to continually learn about different brewing methods and coffee varieties.
• Knowledge of espresso machines and other coffee equipment, with the ability to make adjustments and troubleshoot issues.
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality beverages consistently.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
