Job description
Taylor Barbershop Manager: Manages business operations, Conferences with employees to ensure quality services for patrons, such as haircuts, facials, hair styling, shaves, shampoos, and all other services performed at barbershop. Makes appointments and assigns clients to barbers to maintain uniform employee schedules. Adjusts customer complaints and promotes new business by expressing personal interest in efficient service for clients. Directs sanitary maintenance of shop in compliance with health regulations and requires cleanliness, neatness, and courtesy of employees. Negotiates leases and orders equipment and supplies as needed. Keeps accounts of receipts and expenditures and updates payroll with any payroll changes weekly. Supervises all barbershop staff which includes, contractors, receptionist and provides on-the-job training, while monitoring school attendance of apprentice.
- Oversee daily barbershop operations
- Hire and train barbers, as needed
- Organize employees’ shifts, considering peak times and seasonality
- Order barbershop products, like creams and essential oils and replenish stock
- Arrange for regular maintenance services for all equipment
- Apply hygiene practices across all barber stations
- Ensure all barber treatments meet high quality standards
- Maintain staff records, including salaries and working schedules
- Promote services, products and discounts on social media
- Oversee payments from clients and track all transactions
- Keep updated records of costs and revenues (e.g. daily, monthly and quarterly)
- Run online competitions and offer discount packages to attract new customers
- Proven work experience as a Barbershop Manager or similar role
- Good knowledge of hair products (e.g. for skin care)
- Basic bookkeeping knowledge
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to handle customers’ requests and complaints with grace
- BS degree in Business Administration or relevant field is a plus
