Position Summary

The Backup and Recovery Engineer is responsible for comprehensive management and maintenance of customer operational environments including, backup /recovery, virus protection, and overall operational effectiveness. The Backup and Recovery Engineer will monitor our operational environments while serving as an escalation point for related issues.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Backup environment
  • Ensure backups run successfully in device / server and O365 environments
  • Resolve any incidents in the environment
  • Configure new or modify configurations to these environments
  • Provide pre / post-sales support
  • Support finance team to deliver accurate client billing
  • Provide client reporting as required
  • Provide pre / post-sales support
• Virus / Malware Protection
  • Monitor and respond to alerts within the protection application
  • Manage licensing and report on discrepancies
• Disaster Recovery
  • Assist SME function for Disaster Recovery
  • Assist with the develop and maintenance of Disaster Recovery documentation
• Provide Support to RMM Engineer with Ad hoc tasks. Including but not limited to Onboarding Clients, Kaseya Support, etc.

Customer Service

• Maintain strong customer service skills when dealing with clients, vendors, and other Tech Impact partners
• Advise Account Management of reoccurring technical issues

Professional Development

• Improve knowledge of current and future backup technologies that may be of benefit to Tech Impact or its clients

Other Duties

• Provide technical project support as directed
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Experience with cloud-based backup and storage solutions such as MSP 360 (Cloudberry), Azure Backup, AWS S3
• Experience with on-premises storage technologies such as SAN and NAS
• Experience with cloud-based technology such as Office 365, Azure and AWS is a plus
• Must be flexible, able to multi-task, and enjoy working in a diverse, results-oriented workplace where a premium is placed on teamwork
• Sense of humor
