Automotive Service Drive Manager
Job description
Large New Car Dealership in Clearwater Florida is looking to fill the position of the Service Drive Manager. This is one of those positions that rarely comes open at a dealership. Many will want to apply for this position but very few will have the qualifications it takes to get the job.
The responsibilities of the Service Drive Manager will include, but not are not limited to;
- Overseeing the operation of the Service Drive on a Daily Basis
- You will be responsible for assisting in developing, implementing, overseeing, monitoring and coaching of process on the Service Drive.
- Supervision of the Service Porters and Shuttle Van Drivers
- You will make the schedule for the Advisors, porters and shuttle drivers to make sure we have coverage at all times.
- Ensure the repair orders properly document the concern that the vehicle was brought in for so the technicians have all the information they need to fix the vehicle right the first time.
- Ensuring that customer are greeted in a timely manor
- Make sure every customer is contacted on a daily basis for updates and the communication with each guest is open and honest.
- Ensure that customers are happy with their experience and that every customer is told about the importance of the survey.
- Make sure that estimates are presented to customers in a timely fashion and are accurately priced.
- Making sure that all policies and procedures are followed as outline by the manufacturer and the state.
- You must be willing and able to fill in for the Service Advisors and porters when someone goes on vacation or falls ill.
- The Service Drive Manager will work along side Technicians and Team Leaders but will not oversee them.
To be eligible for this position you MUST have the following;
- The ability to follow direction. If you do not meet all of these eligibilities listed below, do not apply.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Service Advisor or Service Manager in a New Car Dealership.
- A proven record of Above Average Customer Satisfaction scores that you can back up on paper or have references that can confirm them.
- A proven record of your past production. Any reports you have to support this will help or references that can confirm them.
- A proven track record of stability in your past employment.
- A Clean drivers license, background and you must pass a drug test.
- The willingness to do what ever it takes to get the job done. Come in early, stay late, work thought lunch or come in on your day off it that is what it takes.

A few things to know about this position is that your success will not be judged by how well you perform but how well you are able to get those around you to perform. Although this position comes with the title of "Manager" what we are really looking for is a "Leader". Someone that will show people the right way to do something instead of just telling them. Someone who rises to meet the demands of the department when it gest busy. Someone that when they see an unhappy customer runs towards them and not away from them. Someone that can take an under performing employee and motivate or train them to do better.
