Job Description


The Opportunity:

The purpose of this position is to manage and support the daily operations of Retail Experiences including: Restaurants, Events, Doll Hair Salon, Girl Salon, CYO, Hotel Partnerships and Doll Hospital. Oversee food and beverage purchasing, POS maintained, inventory management, and menu development for AG Retail stores, oversee supply management for all AG Doll and Girl Salons, and support the Sr Regional Manager of Restaurants and Experiences including but not limited to: month-end reconciliation, payroll, training, documentation, and communication of procedures and best practices for Retail Experiences.

What Your Impact Will Be:

Food and Beverage Purchasing and Financial Management:

  • Manage proprietary product sourcing and inventory. Monitor market prices and negotiate costs to ensure products are purchased at competitive prices. Process invoices in a timely manner.
  • Manager of InfoGenesis system and inventory management system. Set up products and recipes, create sku info for POS, user set up.
  • Manage Food Buy partnership
  • Partner and train stores to ensure an accurate month. Create month end financial roll up and report successes and opportunities.
  • Manage P&L, report out regularly and react to trends and make improvements

Organizational Leadership:

  • Assist the ST Manager of Restaurants and Experiences in the communication of the vision and standards of the restaurant and experiences across the division.
  • Supports both service and culinary standards in stores as directed.
  • Provide restaurant and experience teams with effective tools and resources
  • Build strong working relationships and demonstrate professionalism and partnership
  • Contribute to bi-weekly Home Team calls
  • Facilitate menu development, recipe development, and communicate launches to the division
  • Communicate product shortages and weekly produce report
  • Troubleshoot operational issues daily

Training:

  • Assist with leadership training in service, food standards, financial management, safety and sanitation requirements.
  • Facilitate training programs for restaurant and experience management to enhance professional development.
  • Support the training of all restaurant systems, and trouble shoot as necessary.

Serve as AG Corporate Support Contact for Retail location Experiences

  • Act as the liaison between stores and headquarters for the Hotel Partnership, Create Your Own, Doll Hospital, Girl Salon, Doll Salon, Ear Piercing, Retail Asset Guide, and Event Contract Management
  • Oversee annual hotel partnership contract including but not limited to: product coordination with Retail stores and Hotel Affiliates, contract management, and direct oversight to hotel data reporting by quarter.
  • Oversee contract agreements for the Retail Asset Guide with retail and mall partners.
  • Support the Regional Manager of Restaurants and Experiences with large party and event contracts

Retail Supply Forecasting & Management

  • Perform quarterly forecasting of retail supplies including but not limited to events, restaurant, salon, packaging, and marketing materials.
  • Support the Doll and Girl Hair Salon supply management. Order and fulfill requests on weekly basis non-MW items used in DHS and GHS.
  • Oversee the Inverness contract in conjunction with Brand Managers to order, exchange, and acquire product

Qualifications


What We’re Looking For:

  • Certification and licensing in safe food handling and sanitation required by the department of public health; inventory management software; purchasing software.
  • At least 3 years restaurant management and food preparation experience and at least 2 years Chef/Executive Chef experience in corporate dining, catering, or restaurants is preferred. Business Management or Restaurant Management degree preferred, culinary school, or comparable experience.
  • Ability to create, scale, and cost scratch recipes from concept.
  • Computer skills required for Microsoft Word, Excel, POS system, scheduling software, and basic office equipment (copiers/fax).
  • This position requires agility and flexibility due to the unpredictable nature of the café and restaurants, the ability to build cross functional relationships, and influence others.
  • The ability to drive continuous improvement in the system process is necessary an is ongoing challenge as software and systems are enhanced.
  • Working remotely is required most of the time while office attendance and travel is necessary during different times of the year and can differ depending on projects but is not total more than 15%.
  • This position requires a large amount of data entry and system interaction to create and update experiences.
  • Time management and planning is essential to the success as often the position requires working months in the future.
  • Ability to communicate the culture and expectations of American Girl to the customers, both internal and external.
  • The ability to provide strong leadership and flexibility, able to juggle a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: monitoring service standards and food quality, ensuring safety standards are upheld, resolving customer issues and personnel issues, overseeing the restaurant operation, and leading the ongoing development of new concepts and programs to promote restaurants.
  • Must be able to articulate the how’s to create and deliver an exceptional dining experience to the restaurant team members and do it using different types of communications such as remote and face to face.
  • Must possess a calm and rational disposition to manage high volume quickly changing environments. Must have the ability to manage both FOH and BOH staff in a multicultural environment while exhibiting both analytical and creative skills.
  • Must possess strong knowledge of kitchen operations and supporting the day to day operations. Has proficiency in the use of kitchen equipment and troubleshooting operational issues.
  • Ability to manage vendor accounts which include daily contact to order experience and food/beverage supplies ensuring the best price and quality.
  • Ability to support and work cohesively with many different corporate teams to deliver exceptional experiences and events.
  • May be required to perform diverse physical tasks. Receiving and storing weekly supply deliveries may require some heavy lifting, approximately 30-50 pounds, transporting full bus tubs that weigh up to 30 pounds. Constant standing and walking and exposed to a loud working environment. Hazards include, but are not limited to: food borne pathogens, hazardous chemicals, slips, trips, falls, cuts, burns, and stains.

The annual base salary range for this position is between $61,600.00 and $77,000.00.

**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
