YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


The primary responsibilities of this role, Associate Director, US Medical Affairs are to:


The Associate Director, US Medical Affairs will lead and implement medical activities to support the development of Bayer Consumer Health Rx-to-OTC portfolio. The incumbent will develop medical insights, learn and apply clinical practice guidance, and develop HCP network and relationships to support multiple therapeutic areas. Scientific data from the literature and clinical studies is meticulously leveraged to maximize product value. The incumbent is responsible for the accuracy of advertising promotional materials, substantiation documentations and to ensure smooth transition of the product from development phase to the US commercial team.

  • Provide the medical and scientific expertise in assessing, interpreting, and summarizing clinical and other scientific data;
  • Translate technical information concisely and accurately to be used for commercialization activities and to support the company's objectives;
  • Conduct strategic planning, due diligence, implementation of clinical programs (including clinical protocol design and writing, study implementation, study interpretation), and country medical affairs activities (such as publication and medical education activation) to drive the development of OTC brands and products;
  • Effectively communicate with commercial and technical groups to identify actionable scientific insights, educate and influence non-scientific decision makers on business opportunities by strategically utilize medical and clinical knowledge;
  • Connect and provide medical support to other US medical leads;
  • Identify and build strong relationships with relevant key opinion leaders, healthcare professional or patient-group associations;
  • Identify emerging scientific trends to keep the company informed of and ahead of competitors;
  • Involve in understanding scientific category dynamics including different classes of treatment associated with each category, understanding the mechanisms of action, PK/PD profiles, safety and efficacy dimensions as well as unique profile characteristics to contribute to the strategic planning and development in support of existing and new brands .

Required Qualifications:


  • PhD in microbiology, PharmD or MD with 5 to 7 years of experience in clinical research, product development, medical affairs, or regulatory science;
  • Require strong communication skills, oral and written, as well as collaborative and dynamic interpersonal skills;
  • Self-starter, able to work independently and act as medical champion;
  • Ability to interact with and influence people at all levels;
  • Ability to self-learn new scientific information, interpret and assimilate data including statistical considerations, pharmacology relevance;
  • Strong networking and thought leader development skills;
  • Good understanding and the ability to interpret pre-clinical and clinical study data, practical experiences with human behavior studies such as human-factor, label comprehension, target selection studies is a plus.
