Job description
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Certification as a Principal/Assistant Principal in Massachusetts.
2.Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience preferred.
3.Masters Degree with specialization in educational administration or curriculum and supervision preferred.
4.Administrative and/or supervisory experience preferred.
5.Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the superintendent or the school committee may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
SUPERVISES: All personnel serving in the assigned school as directed.
JOB GOAL: To provide leadership and coordination in the development and implementation of school policies and programs to meet the needs, interests and abilities of the students.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Assists in administering the school and its education program in all its facets.
2.Assists in recruiting, screening, hiring, training, assigning, and evaluating instructional and non-instructional personnel.
3.Assists in the implementation of school committee policies and administrative rules and regulations relating to the school.
4.Assists in the development and enforcement of rules and regulations for students and staff in all areas, including discipline, consistent with school committee policies.
5.Participates in administrative meetings and such other meetings as are required to facilitate the educational program.
6.Assists the principal regarding the needs of the school with respect to personnel, equipment, supplies and curriculum.
7.Assists in supervising the instructional staff in the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum and student activities.
8.Assists in the development, implementation, supervision and evaluation of co-curricular activities.
9.Assists in the planning and supervision of student safety.
10.Assists in planning, implementing, and evaluating in-service programs.
11.Assists in the planning, direction, and implementation of all scheduling activities.
12.Assists in the development and implementation of the budget.
13.Assists in the orientation of new staff members, and assists in their development.
14.Assists in the planning and implementation of student and parent orientation programs.
15.Performs additional duties as assigned by the principal.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve months.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the building principal in accordance with school district policy and procedures.
